Children, youth, and families spending their autumn break in Kouvola between October 21th to 27th, are being offered a wide range of free indoor and outdoor activities by the City of Kouvola.
Indoor and outdoor sport activities
- Indoor adventure track Monday, 21.10. from 10:00–12:00 at Koria Monitoimitalo (Multiservice Hall, Kyntäjäntie 9, Koria). The indoor adventure course includes a diverse obstacle course and play area. Children under 5 must be accompanied by an adult.
- Wall climbing trial for ages 6+, Monday, 21.10. from 17:00–18:00 and 18:00–19:00 at Valkealatalo (Toikkalantie 5, Valkeala). Space for 15 people per session. Price: 5 €, payable in cash on site. Climbing hosted by the climbing club ”Kiila.” Registration starts 15.10. at 9:00.
- Playing sessions for families, 22.–24.10. from 9:00–14:00 at Kuusankoski urheilutalo (Sports Hall, Uimahallintie 10, Kuusankoski). You can reserve a time slot for ball games in the sports hall (one booking per group). The hall is divided into three sections. Reservations open from 15.10. at 9:00.

- FreeFriday! Friday, 25.10. Free swimming for those under 18 at the Inkeroinen, Kuusankoski, and Valkeala swimming halls. Opening hours: kouvola.fi/uimahallit.
- Public skating sessions for the whole family, with or without hockey sticks at the Inkeroinen, Kuusankoski, and Valkeala ice rinks. See schedule: kouvola.fi/yleisovuorot. The Kääkki sports mascot joins skating on Monday, 21.10. from 14:15–15:00 at Kuusankoski Ice Hall.

Comic art exhibitions and workshops at Poikilo Museum
- Two new exhibitions at the Kouvola Art Museum: Kuumat Kuplat (Hot Bubbles – The Many Forms of Contemporary Comics) and Ajan Rajalla (At the Edge of Time) by Hanneriina Moisseinen and E.L. Karhu.
- Two comic-themed workshops at the art museum: Aino Sutinen’s Travel Comics Workshop on Saturday, 19.10. at 13:00, for youth and adults. Terhi Ekebom’s 3D Pop-up Zine Workshop on Saturday, 26.10. at 13:00. Workshops are included in the museum’s admission and are part of the Kuumat Kuplat exhibition program.
- What is Kouvola Made Of? Exhibition at the Kouvola City Museum, Poikilo.
- Photo Night in Jaala Tuesday, 22.10., Jaalatalo, Salparinteentie 1, from 17:00–19:00. Organized in cooperation with the Jaala Local Heritage Association. The photo nights aim to collect local information related to the images.
- Gallery Exhibitions: Jan Jämsén: Infinity, prints at KOUTA Gallery, Kaija Eerola: Living Memory, paintings at Poikilo Gallery, Poikilo Museums collection display case in the lobby of Kouvolatalo.

Autumn Bbeak at Youth Houses
Ten Youth Houses in Kouvola will host various programs during Autumn Break, including cooking, pool tournaments, hide-and-seek in the dark, discos, and an overnight youth house event.
Youth can also organize activities themselves or suggest program ideas.
Youth Houses are primarily for ages 11–17. On Thursdays, NuPa NuortenPaikka (downtown Youth House, Kouvolankatu 28) hosts a special evening for ages 17–28.

- Tuesday, 22.10.: Trip to Megazone and Jumbo Shopping Center in Vantaa.
- Wednesday, 23.10.: Disco at Valkeala youth house.
- Thursday–Friday, 24.–25.10.: Overnight LAN party at NuPa and an overnight youth house event at SporttiTalo Lehdokki.
- Friday, 25.10.: Takapihan Kundit perform on NuPa’s stage.

Free activities for families with small children
- At Kuovi perhepuisto (Family Park, Lohitie 9, Kouvola) indoor facilities are open during Autumn Break: Monday and Tuesday from 9:00–16:00. Wednesday and Friday from 9:00–12:00. Thursday from 9:00–16:00.
- Monday: Indoor facilities reserved for baby families from 13:00–16:00.
- Tuesday: Toddler meeting for 1–2-year-olds from 9:00–12:00.
- Wednesday: Fathers and children’s evening at Kuovi Family Park from 17:00–18:30.
- Thursday: Baby meeting from 9:00–12:00 for all baby families.
- Friday: Music class for 1–3-year-olds from 10:00–10:30.
- Monday, 21.10.: Family meeting activities at Naukio päiväkoti (Daycare, Uimahallintie 5, Kuusankoski) from 9:00–11:30.
